CHR-SPONSORED HOLY MASS FOR THE ADVENT SEASON

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) led by Chairperson Purificacion Valera-Quisumbing, Commissioner Wilhelm Dabu Soriano and his wife, Mrs. Ma. Leah Casis Lazo-Soriano, Directors and CHR personnel in attending the Sunday Mass held at the RPN-9 compound located in Broadcast City, Capitol Hills in Quezon City.

The Holy Eucharist commemorated the start of the Advent Season in time for the celebration of the Human Rights Week per RA 9201. The 7:00 AM December 3 Holy Eucharist also signaled the start of the Christmas Season and focused on the Holy family as the center of the homily. As has been observed during the HR Week, the CHR once again requested the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and the Archdiose of Manila to issue a Pastoral message to church parishioners nationwide centered on the HR awareness campaign’s theme: “Karapatang Pantao: Susi sa Kapayapaan, Katarungan at Kaunlaran.”

First and second readings, responsorial psalm and the Prayer of the Faithful were participated by the CHR top officials with the Love Offering offered by both the CHR officers and personnel.
