CHRP HOSTS TWG MEETING OF THE
ASEAN NHRI FORUM

As agreed at the 4th Consultative Meeting and Conference of the ASEAN NHRIs last January 2008 in Manila, the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines will host and chair the Technical Working Group Meeting of the ASEAN NHRI Forum scheduled on 28-30 April 2008 in Cebu.

The ASEAN NHRI Forum will discuss further the agreements made during the 4th Consultative Meeting particularly on the implementation of the ten priority projects under the Framework of Cooperation to be undertaken jointly. The TWG meeting will likewise tackle the proposal of the ASEAN NHRI Forum on the creation of an ASEAN Human Rights Commission.
